- Banjul Beach - Palm Grove Hotel
Really enjoyed time around the pool, always plenty
to do. The wedding was lovely but obviously there
were cultural differences yet the gardens were
absolutely beautiful and made it a very special day.
The hotel is in a quiet location facing a tidal
lagoon. The hotel also offers a selection of on-site
facilities. Meals were varied and well cooked,
whether a quick lunchtime snack in the Ghecko bar
(would recommend their special fish fingers and
chips) to the buffet menu at La Brasserie. Take
advantage of happy hour between 6 - 7pm but beware,
some of those cocktails are lethal. |

- Kotu Beach - Badala Park Hotel
Having read the reviews i was worried about going to
this hotel so we decided that we would book into
another place when we got there, however from the
moment we arrived the staff were fantastic and made
us feel at home. We've stayed in some nice 5* hotels
that were plush but very impersonal and this hotel
beat them all for customer service. Don't be
misguided by the negative reviews, its a good value
for money hotel that is clean with friendly and
helpful staff, This property offers a friendly,
welcoming atmosphere and is ideal for the budget
conscious traveller. I can't wait to go back.

Tunisia
- Hammamet - Dar Khayam Hotel
I did not realise that Tunisia was on just over 3
hours away, just come back from the Dar Khayam
Hotel, we went for a short break and to get some sun
on our backs after this rotten British weather. It
is a nice clean hotel and the staff and hotel
animation team are very friendly, the hotel is right
on the beach, and there always seemed to be
something to do in the hotel. Hammamet has a
good selection cafes and a couple of decent
nightclubs, take an organised trip to Tunis. |

- Hammamet - Marina Palace
A very simple style hotel with a very nice swimming
pool, the hotel waiters all speak more than 1
language. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the
hotel gave more towels or bedding as and when
needed. The food was ok, nothing to write home about
but also nothing to give a tummy upset either, the
food is buffet style. The hotel has a Moorish cafe
and the delicious Turkish coffee is a must, and the
mint tea is very refreshing. The only downside for
the whole hotel was that the tv only had 1 english
speaking channel |
